North Herts Guild of Singers and NexGen Staging

In mid 2018 the staging crew at North Herts Guild of Singers visited Sheffield to view NexGen Staging and get a demonstration of how it might be the right staging to replace theirs.

The singers perform while stood and seated, so 1m x 1m deck platforms were required. We at NexGen demonstrated how the tiers are assembled and laid out, so that chairs can be placed on the tiers. The Guild has singers performing, sometimes 100+ Strong and all need a seat.

With a project of this size, the amount of tiers was such that it could accommodate the entire Guild.

Handrails were required to wrap the top tiers and trolleys for hall to van transportation and storage were added.

As storage space was an issue the whole staging setup needed to be shipped and stored on 2 pallets.

The order was placed and 4 weeks later the order was ready. These were delivered in early 2019 by our tail-lift courier partner to the Chairman’s house and stored in the garage until the first rehearsal. staging delivery and storage

These images were kindly taken and sent to us by Deborah Dean of the Guild.

Deborah said, “We have now used our staging twice and are very pleased with it. In March we had a ribbon cutting ceremony for it! On Saturday the stage crew reported they had put it up quickly and how easy it was. They appreciate its lightness. The railings take time to put up, but the stage itself is wonderful. It feels a lot more stable than the ones we have used before and makes less noise too.”

The whole staging storage footprint is 2 cubic metres. The platforms are 7.8kg each and all riser legs are under 1kg each.
