More than just a Portable Staging company

In mid June 2019 Chesterfield College contacted us at NexGen and asked if we could provide a stage for their annual

fashion show. Of course we jumped at the chance but there was a bespoke requirement to the configuration and we had 10 days to produce.

The fashion show director wanted the models to walk straight from the upper step level directly onto the main staging catwalk. So we employed our local joinery team ABS who designed some great step infills. These were made onsite at the college and we carpeted them to match the stage carpet onsite.

These allow flush access directly onto the NexGen Staging catwalk and with a small T section attached the models are ready to walk in front of the audience at the same level.

The catwalk runway stretches 10m into the arena and sits 3m wide. It has a finish of grey carpet.

The college director and staff thought it necessary to hide the staging riser legs so we attached the black skirting hardboard fascia. Adding chrome corner trims at the corners of the runway really finish off the stage professionally.

All in all the step infills took 5 hours to make and the staging itself was assembled in just over 90 minutes.

The whole staging package fits onto 2 dolly trolleys.

The fashion show at Chesterfield College happens each June and highlights the skills and ambitions of the students in South Yorkshire.
